Postpartum Care

Postpartum Care

Research shows that the support services of a professional postpartum Doula can significantly improve the families experience of transitioning their newborn into the home and family. Other benefits are it reduces the new parents stress level, decreases the risk of mood disorders and depression for the new mother, can cause greater success with breastfeeding, and gives new parents more confidence and security.

Our postpartum doulas offer education, companionship, and non-judgmental support to mothers and families during the postpartum trimester. Our postpartum services are customized to each family's unique needs. Our Doulas will come to your home and assist with newborn care, any family adjustment needs, meal preparation, and light household tidying up (washing baby bottles, baby’s laundry, etc.). We will also offer evidence based information and resources on infant feeding, infant soothing techniques, understanding postpartum depression, and support with the physical and emotional healing needed by mom.

Day Time Care

$25-$28/hr single
$28-$30/hr multiples

The daytime shifts are designed to assist area families in adjusting to newborn life, support breast and bottle feeding, and encourage an environment in the home where the mother and family can rest and recover during this fourth trimester transition time.

Daytime shifts with a postpartum doula are a minimum of 3 consecutive hours. Additional hours can be purchased as needed.

*Some employers FSA and HSA providers are now accepting postpartum support as a reimbursable expense, check with your provider for eligibility.

Night Owls (Overnight Care)

$28/hr single
$30/hr multiples

Overnight care is designed to allow new parents to get the rest they need to maintain a happy and healthy home. Your doula will tend to the needs of your newborn all night so the family can sleep through the night. The doula and infant typically spend the night in a room away from the sleeping family so as not to waken anyone. If your infant is nursing, when your baby awakes to eat, we will bring your baby to you to feed and then leave you to fall back to sleep while we resume care.

The overnight shifts typically start at 10pm and end at 6am. You can adjust this schedule as needed with your caregiver. The overnight shift is a minimum of 8 consecutive hours.

*Some employers FSA and HSA providers are now accepting postpartum support as a reimbursable expense, check with your provider for eligibility.

Placenta Encapsulation

Placenta Encapsulation

$275 full encapsulation

Placenta Encapsulation is used as a way to help mothers heal their bodies naturally. The encapsulation process takes place over a 24 hour period from start to finish. The process includes the placenta being cleaned, steamed, dehydrated, ground and, finally, placed into capsules for the mother to consume. Depending on the size of each placenta, the number of capsules derived from the process varies. Generally we see 75-100 placenta pills produced from each placenta.

The placenta is full of important minerals, vitamins and hormones that can help to more quickly balance a mother in the postpartum period as well as offer numerous benefits to a women in her immediate postpartum time.

Why should I take placenta capsules?
Your bay's placenta, contained in capsule form, is believed to:

  • contain your own natural hormones
  • be perfectly made for you by your own body
  • balance your system
  • replenish depleted iron
  • give you more energy
