The Introduction to Childbirth Course is required for Birth Doula Certification, but is beneficial for anyone who wants to learn more about the stages of pregnancy and fetal development, the physiology of birth, medication and pain management options, and comfort measures during labor.

The role of a doula in the area of breastfeeding is to empower mother and baby to have the best possible outcomes. This can include additional classes or education before birth, follow up support with any issues postpartum, and access to lactation consultants or counselors if needed.
The Breastfeeding workshop is taught by a Certified Lactation Consultant. This course will educate you on the basics of breastfeeding and give you the tools you will need to help mothers be successful with their breastfeeding goals.

A postpartum Doula specializes in newborn care, but ultimately her goal is to nurture the new mother and assist her in caring for her new baby. In this workshop you will learn how to provide companionship, non-judgmental support, and nurturing to a family in transition. We will also cover the basics of breastfeeding, comforting communication with the new parents, supporting older child and pet transitions, infant soothing techniques, safe sleeping environments, postpartum depression, shaken baby syndrome, Infant CPR, and more.
